Grassland biomes are large, rolling terrains of grasses, flowers, and herbs.There are two different types of grasslands; tall-grass, which are humid and very wet, and short-grass which are dry with hotter summers and colder winters than the tall-grass prairie. In the winter, grassland temperatures can be as low as -40degrees farenhgt, and in the summer it can be as high as 70degrees farenhgt. Grassland average rainfall per year ranges from 10-30 inches.
No matter which continent, grasslands support a wide variety of animal life. Some common animals in the grasslands are bison, bird, giraffe, kangaroo, armadillo, the baboon, and ants. Most plant life in the grasslands are grasses. They include Blue Grama, Buffalo grass, Big blue stem, Switch grass and Little Blue Stem just to name a few.
